Fall Football Recipes

There’s no debate that when there’s a tailgate or football watching get-together to be had, there MUST be lots of yummy and shareable food to go along with it. Don’t fret! I’ve rounded up some tried and true favorites to have on hand for your next game watching party and they are always crowd favorites.

EASY CHEESEBURGER SLIDERS

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef (93% or leaner)

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

  • 8 slider buns

  • 2 slices cheddar cheese cut into quarters

Directions

  • In a medium bowl, combine ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper

  • Break beef into 8 equal-sized pieces and form into 1/2in thick patties

  • Place patties on grill and cook for about 5min on each side or when the internal temp reaches 160 degrees. During the last minute of grilling, top each patty with cheddar cheese for easy melting

  • Serve on your favorite slider buns! If you like, toast the buns right on the grill for a minute or two

Spinach Artichoke Dip

Ingredients

  • 8oz. cream cheese, well softened

  • 1/4 cup sour cream

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise

  • 1 clove of garlic, minced (1 tsp)

  • 2/3 cup finely shredded parmesan cheese

  • 1/2 cup finely shredded mozzarella cheese

  • Pepper, to taste

  • 1 can (14oz.) quartered artichoke hearts, drained and chopped

  • 6oz. frozen spinach, thawed and drained of excess liquid

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  • Spray 1 quart baking dish with non-stick cooking spray

  • In a mixing bowl, stir together cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic, parmesan, mozzarella and pepper

  • Stir in artichokes and spinach

  • Spread mixture into prepared baking dish

  • Bake for about 20min

  • Serve warm with tortilla chips or pita bread


Crockpot BBQ Meatballs

Ingredients

  • Frozen meatballs, either “homestyle” or plain. Avoid Italian meatballs.

  • Grape jelly

  • BBQ sauce of your choice

Directions

  • Place frozen meatballs, jelly and BBQ into a crockpot

  • Stir everything to combine

  • Place the lid on top and cook on high for 2 hours or on low for 4 hours

  • Once the meatballs are cooked, you can set the crockpot to warm

  • If desired, transfer the meatballs to a serving dish and serve with toothpicks!
